Production lines have a packaging rhythm that most people never see. Parts come off the line, get inspected, and move into packing within minutes. If cushioning is not ready, the line slows down. Many factories handle this with pre-cut foam inserts or plastic bubble bags, which means someone has to forecast demand, order ahead, and store the material. When a part changes shape, the old inserts become waste. The Aircosan HM50-M is a mini honeycomb paper making machine that fits into this environment and produces cushioning on demand, at the point of packing.

The size and placement matter here. The machine measures 950x1150x1260mm, weighs 502kg net, and occupies just over 1 cubic meter. That means it can sit near the end of a line or in a packing bay without disrupting the flow. Large honeycomb paper production lines need at least 6 cubic meters and only accept rolls over 1 meter wide, which is impractical for most workshops. They also cost hundreds of thousands per unit, at least over 120,000. The HM50-M costs about one third of that, which makes it realistic for small and medium production environments.

Power requirements are modest. 1.5kW at AC220V/50HZ, so a standard supply is enough. The interface is designed for operators, not engineers: one-button start, a pressure gauge showing status clearly, and a panel grouping emergency switch, start/stop, main unit speed control, manual feed, and foot-pedal paper receiving. Pressure adapts automatically to paper thickness and can also be adjusted manually, so switching between paper grades does not stall the line.

Consistency is the key benefit on a production line. The die service life is 1.0–1.3 million meters. The cutter shaft is precision alloy steel, CNC turned and ground, so die-cutting results stay stable through long continuous runs. The blade is cold-worked die steel, sharp and durable. For a line that runs every day, that means predictable output and fewer unplanned stops. Die-cutting speed is 5–18 m/min and adjustable, so you can speed up during peak output and slow down when parts need careful handling.

The material performs well for small and medium parts. Honeycomb paper is 100% plastic-free, biodegradable, and fully degradable, breaking down in 3–6 months versus over 500 years for plastic. It is 100% recyclable, while plastic recycling rates remain under 10%. The 3D honeycomb structure disperses impact under load, which protects sensors, circuit boards, small appliances, precision components, and metal parts. It is also a practical alternative of plastic packing materials for factories under pressure to reduce plastic waste.

The machine supports virgin kraft paper and recycled paper, suitable paper ≤80gsm, paper roll length about 1700m, maximum unwind diameter 500mm. The PLC display supports multiple languages, which helps on sites with mixed shifts. It can be paired with a honeycomb paper dispenser to keep packing stations supplied.

For production environments, the HM50-M is a machine for small business that brings cushioning production in-house. It supports eco friendly packaging and a sustainable packaging solution without interrupting the line. Aircosan provides a dedicated 1-on-1 after-sales team.

If your line depends on pre-made inserts and you are tired of forecasting, the HM50-M is a practical alternative.
