Chain stores have a packaging problem that rarely gets talked about. Each location keeps its own stock of bubble wrap, air pillows, and foam inserts. Multiply that across dozens of stores and you get a serious inventory headache. Some branches run out, some over-order, and head office has no clear picture of what is being used where. The Aircosan HM50-M is a mini honeycomb paper making machine that changes the model. Instead of shipping pre-made cushioning to every store, each location produces what it needs from kraft paper, on demand, at the packing bench.
The machine is built for exactly this kind of distributed setup. It measures 950x1150x1260mm, weighs 502kg net, and takes up just over 1 cubic meter. That fits in a back room, a stockroom corner, or beside the counter. Large honeycomb paper production lines need at least 6 cubic meters and only take rolls over 1 meter wide, which makes them unsuitable for a retail floor plan. They also cost hundreds of thousands per unit, at least over 120,000. The HM50-M comes in at roughly one third of that, which changes the maths for multi-site rollouts.
Power is standard. 1.5kW at AC220V/50HZ, so any normal socket works. Staff training is minimal because the operation is deliberately simple: one-button start, a pressure gauge that shows status clearly, and a panel grouping emergency switch, start/stop, main unit speed control, manual feed, and foot-pedal paper receiving. Pressure adapts automatically to paper thickness and can be adjusted manually, so changing paper does not mean re-tuning the machine.
Reliability matters when the machine is in a retail environment with no technician on site. The die service life is 1.0–1.3 million meters. The cutter shaft is precision alloy steel, CNC turned and ground, which keeps die-cutting results stable over long runs. The blade is cold-worked die steel, sharp and durable. In practice, that means fewer service calls and less disruption to daily store operations.
The material is where the environmental and cost story comes together. Honeycomb paper is 100% plastic-free, biodegradable, and fully degradable. It degrades in 3–6 months, against over 500 years for plastic. It is 100% recyclable, while plastic recycling rates stay under 10%. For chains under pressure from customers or regulators to reduce plastic, it is a practical alternative of plastic packaging. The 3D honeycomb structure disperses impact under load, protecting cosmetics, glassware, ceramics, electronics, and gift items. The clean, neat finish also makes wrapped products look more premium on the shelf or in the bag.
The machine supports virgin kraft paper and recycled paper, suitable paper ≤80gsm, paper roll length about 1700m, maximum unwind diameter 500mm. The PLC display supports multiple languages, useful for chains operating across regions. It can be paired with a honeycomb paper dispenser to keep packing stations moving at peak hours.
For chain stores, the HM50-M is a machine for small business that replaces a fragmented inventory of plastic fillers with one paper roll per site. It supports eco friendly packaging and a sustainable packaging solution across the network. Aircosan provides a dedicated 1-on-1 after-sales team.
If your stores are drowning in plastic filler and nobody knows what is in stock, this is a simpler way to run packaging.
